Lawrence Bender is a movie producer, assisting with the creation of many of Quentin Tarantino’s films. He grew up in New Jersey and went to college at the University of Maine, studying to become a civil engineer. His original plans didn’t work out quite the way he intended. He found a passion for dance during school;however, he couldn’t pursue this dream due to injury.
Lawrence Bender’s films have earned six Academy Awards. He has earned 29 nominations total with three of those being for Best Picture. Bender’s work has also earned MTV Movie Awards and his altruism earned him the Torch of Liberty from the ACLU.

Kill Bill is one of the greatest creations made possible by Lawrence Bender. Like most of Tarantino and Bender’s collaborations, the film is a genre bending, fast paced thrill ride.
The film stars , whose character name is censored throughout the majority of the movie. She is a pregnant woman who is shot by the father of her child. Despite being shot in the head, lives, going on a killing spree, taking out her former associates, a group of female assassins.
The movie is shot out of chronological order, beginning with the shooting then showing Uma’s first victims. Later the film goes into detail about the period of time between the shooting and the killing spree, showing how she survived and escaped from the hospital she was being held at.

Bender contributes to a variety of charitable causes. He has been named a Wildlife Hero by the NWF. Lawrence Bender is also a member of the Advisory Board to the Dean and the John F. Kennedy School of Government, a sub-school as Harvard.
In 2013, he was honored by the University of Maine, the college he went to, with a Doctor of Humane Letters degree.
